AGC-01: Introduction to Architectural Geometry Fundamentals

Level: Basic
Category: Architectural Geometry
Learning Mode: In Person

Course Description:

This two-week introductory program provides a foundational understanding of architectural geometry. Participants will explore basic geometric principles, learn to create simple 3D models using Rhinoceros 3D, and gain an introduction to Grasshopper. Through hands-on exercises and practical applications, students will develop essential skills for creating fundamental architectural forms.

Topics:

  1. Basic geometric shapes and transformations
  2. Introduction to 3D modeling with Rhinoceros 3D
  3. Fundamental concepts of surface creation
  4. Introduction to Grasshopper visual scripting
  5. Simple digital fabrication techniques

Course Outcomes (Learning Objectives):

  1. Understand fundamental geometric principles.
  2. Develop basic 3D modeling skills in Rhinoceros 3D.
  3. Learn to create simple surfaces.
  4. Gain a basic understanding of Grasshopper.
  5. Produce simple physical models through digital fabrication.

Prerequisite:

  1. Architecture student or graduate.
  2. Good English Level

Career Return on Investment (ROI)

This course lays a strong foundation in architectural geometry and digital modeling—skills increasingly demanded in today’s design and architecture industries. By gaining hands-on experience in tools like Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper, participants position themselves for more advanced design roles and workflows that integrate computational thinking and parametric design.

Whether you aim to work in architectural firms, digital fabrication studios, or pursue academic research, mastering these tools early on opens doors to competitive opportunities. You’ll gain practical modeling capabilities that employers look for, and your ability to communicate complex geometries digitally sets you apart from peers who lack such technical fluency.
